Jason Weaver, who is the singing voice for Young Simba character in Disney’s The Lion King, has revealed how he turned down a deal from the popular movie company.

He said that he had to refuse $2 million deal from Disney, took his mother’s advice, and opted for $100,000 royalties instead.

The actor disclosed this in his interview with VLADTV, saying the one-time flat rate deal never came with any royalties.

It should be noted that at the time the deal was offered, the American actor was just a child and his mother was in charge of his business.

With his mother’s move, they were able to ask for a $100,000 upfront payment and royalty payments for the future.

Jason said that his mother was able to see how Disney was always using the business pattern of re-producing old stuffs and re-selling them over time. Understanding how much money could be made from that marketing plan, she made a very informed decision for her child-actor.
